subway music has been vastly improving lately.

i no longer wear my headphones, because the interchanging bands by lorimer &  6th avenue & union square by warhol & on my train car…

they’re really incredible.

i have to start working on compiling a list…

the best part of andrew bird for me this time, was the opening band, patrick watson. i’ve been listening to watson for a while, likening him to andrew, but seeing him twist his lips to push out his sweet, sweet, voice was really great.

bird, on the other hand, was great as usual, albiet  slightly boring.

(dare i say, as usual?)

maybe i’ve seen him do his thing live too many times. i mean, what he does is nothing short of spectacular- the whistling, pedal pushing, looping, double spinning horn speaker bathing the room in undulating sound- all fabulous. but after a few songs… i think i’m just waiting for him to pull something different out of his lips.

also, i’d like to see every musician from the fourth row at the beautiful beacon theatre. perfecto.
